2006 "R" Primitivo

The 2006 Primitivo has a beautiful color reminiscent of fully ripened plums. The aromas are of sweet black cherries and raspberries. A bouquet of smoky oak with nuances of clove and cinnamon compliments the black fruit aromas. On the palate, flavors of sweet ripe plums mingle with those of vanilla and oak. The fruit flavors transition to a long, lingering finish featuring sweet red fruits and vanilla with a hint of smoke. The tannins are soft and well integrated and in keeping with the cellar style of the wines produced by Jeff Runquist.
